Pray the Week

Pray with…

Faith and Persistence: Believe that God hears you and can answer your prayers, even if it’s not in the way you expect. Don’t give up. Continue to pray with faith and trust in God’s timing (Matthew 7:7-11, Mark 11:24).

Content of Prayer: The Bible encourages praying for your needs, for others, and for God’s will to be done. Don’t be afraid to bring anything to God, from daily concerns to bigger worries (Philippians 4:6, Matthew 6:9-13).

Verses to Guide Your Time of Prayer

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:6

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Matthew 26:41

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Romans 8:26

Praying is Vital. Colossians 4:2 – Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Prayer as Communication: Prayer is primarily seen as a two-way dialogue between you and God. It’s not just about making requests but expressing gratitude, confessing sins, and simply connecting with God in worship and adoration. (Philippians 4:6-7, James 5:16)
